So I wanted to put a face to the brand & explain why we are doing what we can to help Neurofibromatosis & Epilepsy. This is myself and my son Zac, he is 10 and when he was 9 he started having sezuires for no apparent reason as you can imagine as a mother it was the scariest thing to witness and I pray no parent ever goes through it, and as a child going through all this it has been very confusing and his whole life has been turned upside down through it all though he's been the bravest boy ever and the resilience he shows everyday is unmatched 💙 
After frequent hospital stays and multiple daily sezuires continuing for months he was diagnosed epileptic and given medication which was supposed to help, bloods were also sent for genetic testing. Some days it would look like the medication was working then clusters of sezuires would come and back to the hospital zac would go, a few months ago we saw specialist genetics who clinically diagnosed zac with NF 1 - Neurofibromatosis (which I had only ever heard of since our multiple hospital stays) and a tumour was also found in his frontal lobe which now explains the sezuires and why they aren't being controlled by medication. Currently do not know if the tumour is cancerous, but what we do know is it isn't a typical NF tumour. Great Ormand Street have been amazing and are monitoring it for the time being and we know he's in the best hands.
NF1 is a rare, unpredictable condition, that causes tumours aswell as many other problems including neurological, sight and mobility. Unfortunatly at this time there is no cure for Neurofibromatosis only management and awareness. 
Zac has all the comom NF1 traits, cafe lu spots, short stature, larger than average head circumference and additional needs however this was missed for 9 years because enough isn't known, it isn't spoken about enough and there isn't enough research, which means him and so many other have and are lacking the support they so desperately need.
With this myself and zac thought we could build and make things together that raise awareness and he can be my helper, we can do it from anywhere, together whilst also raising some money for the amazing charities 💙💚💜
